DrB is at it again. What happened to him "here" -> viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1040Is happening again. I have no idea why is not able to have access with both his accounts on 2 separate computers both having different CD keys. When I was logged in with my DM I went to kill his "twin" and I went to limbo with a black screen. All I could hear was Bob telling those stupid jokes. Also not only did DrB have a twin when we would talk to each other it would post it twice. All seems to be ok now and he has no chars stuck on the server. But we need to figure out how to stop this from happening and to figure out why it is not possible for 2 people in his home are not able to play dalakora on separate computers w/different keys. Dood, can you look into this please and see whats causing all these problems? They should be able to both be able to log on and play. Its 3:30 in the morning and Im super tired, I hope I made at least some sense!

When you log on to the server it says that if you play on a LAN you need to check your nwnplayer.ini to make sure each PC uses a different Client Port.
That may be worth a shot.

I modified my ports as per all of your suggestions but it appears academic as the server is doing the "I'm not letting anyone on after DRB broke me" thing after restart. I hope Tyrnee can get hold of Dood faster than the 3-4 days it took last time to free him up to fix my screw up. I really really want both my accounts to work but not at the expense of everyone else so this is me tendering my sincerest apologies to everyone that doesn't get to play this weekend... Sorry all. And I'll endeavor (HARD) not to do this again.

My son and I run on a lan. We did the port modification and have never had any problems. And drat, I get most of my playing in on the weekend. Daughter is coming in from out of town this evening, so I guess no playing this weekend.

shoot, what was that, 12 hours? what a horrible response time! email to dalakora@gmail.com is the fastest way to get in touch with me. though perhaps it's time to let somebody else in on the secret to admin-ing the server. i've already had one inquiry. i'll have to run it by churchboy first, though. PS: my guess would be that Flx is spot on. DR.B, have you guys been running with different ports? you said that the attempt was academic, but was the server already "broken" at that point? try it again with a "fresh" restart.

Ok Dood, heres what happens. On both occasions when this has occurred the server has acted peculiar after the event. For example there have been duplicates of the toon I had logged in with in my primary account even though I had been booted from Dalakora on my end. Also certain areas, like Limbo, have a black screen and odd functionality. That being said the server continues to function until restart. After restart no one can log in. Its now 12:50 p.m. pacific time. Let me know when you will be close by and I’ll try it again. I’ve redefined my allowed ports on my router and have changed the client ports on the two installs to different ports. I have also reinstalled the game on my backup pc. I’m about as ready as I can be. Let me know when a good time for you would be. DRB

i'll be around all afternoon. just send dalakora@gmail.com an email if things go awry. i'm thinking that Flx is right, and if your client ports on the nwplayer.ini files are different, then there won't be any more problems.
